Family Campouts

Drawing inspiration from the great outdoors of the surrounding Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, The Lodge presents Family Slumber Tents, a playful new tent setup for kids inside the guest rooms. Turn up the fun and make it an activity for the whole family to enjoy while cozying up for a movie night. The complimentary amenity is available through the Concierge.

Family fun at The Lodge continues with complimentary Cookie Decorating on Thursdays and sleek new Troxus electric bikes to tour around and explore La Jolla, from the Torrey Pines mesa to scenic La Jolla Cove.

Cruise News

This spring marks the return of a San Diego tradition on Mission Bay: Bahia Belle Family Sightseeing Cruises between the Bahia and Catamaran resorts. On Thursdays through Sundays, guests can board the Bahia Belle, a classic turn-of-the-century sternwheeler boat, from either the Bahia Resort dock (at 6 or 7 p.m.) or Catamaran Resort dock (at 6:45 p.m.) for a 1 hour 15-minute excursion. Guests are treated to a complimentary welcome beverage and a self-guided scavenger hunt/souvenir for kids. There’s also a cash bar and grab & go food offerings for purchase. Tickets cost $15 for hotel guests and $20 general admission. Reservations are required.

Foodie Delights

Gourmands are in for a treat during Wild Wednesdays, a new four-course dinner series by Chef Paul Arias at Oceana Coastal Kitchen, the signature beachfront restaurant at the Catamaran Resort. Launching March 13, each dinner highlights the finest fresh seafood and locally sourced produce from the Pacific Beach Farmers' Market. Diners can elevate their meal with an optional wine pairing to complement the seasonal flavors. Reservations are now open for this unforgettable evening of exquisite dining and coastal ambiance.

For foodies wishing to get an indulgent taste of the Bahia, Catamaran and The Lodge’s signature restaurants, San Diego Restaurant Week on March 3-10 is a popular option. The Grill at Torrey Pines, Dockside 1953 at the Bahia Resort and Oceana Coastal Kitchen present delicious prix fixe 3-course dinners for $50 per person.

A.R. Valentien at The Lodge, annual recipient of Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Award, will be the toast of the town in March with its new Flight Deck series. On Wednesdays, guests can sip and savor curated wine flights with the sommelier on the outdoor terrace. Cost is $75 per person; no advance reservation is required. 

Diners can hop over to Oceana Coastal Kitchen and Dockside 1953 for Easter Champagne Brunch on March 31, featuring a visit with the Easter Bunny, an egg hunt (find the golden egg and win a prize!), live entertainment, and more. Cost is $110 per person, $55 for kids ages 5-11. A.R. Valentien presents a scrumptious three-course Easter brunch with seasonal entrée options; cost is $125 per person. 

Family Flicks 

Taking advantage of San Diego’s warm spring weather, the Catamaran Resort stages complimentary outdoor, family-friendly Movies on the Bay every Tuesday and Friday night at 7 p.m., with a stunning backdrop of Mission Bay. The Bahia Resort also hosts Family Movie Nights, every Saturday at 7 p.m. inside the Residents’ Lounge.
